Central Michigan University’s 2018 New Venture Competition winners, Elemental and Drone the News, recently wrapped up a six-week accelerator program designed to help them in the early years of their new businesses. Phobio’s CEO and co-founder, Stephen Wakeling, also a CMU alumnus, provided mentorship to both businesses throughout the program.
“Michigan is well-positioned to be a garden of disruption, where new ideas can grow and prosper,” Stephen told reporters from Central Michigan’s Morning Sun News. “It’s fertile ground for myriad startup industries, from tech to agriculture. All we need to do is provide some support to these bright, creative visionaries to experience another boom.”
